Happy Monday and Happy 1st Day of August to my dear book lovers! I know I don’t do anything on Monday and it was my original plan to review this book on my regular Wednesday book post but I enjoyed this first book in Ellen Byron’s Vintage Cookbook series I just couldn’t wait until Wednesday nor could I do it justice on my Instagram account that is how good this book is. So here we are kicking off August with a book review of Bayou Book Thief.

If you’re looking for a fun, fast paced, well written cozy mystery then look no further then Bayou Book Thief you will not be disappointed!

Widow Miracle “Ricki” James-Diaz has made the move from Los Angeles to New Orleans where she was born and raised for the first seven years of her life. Now she is back after her famous daredevil husband dies performing a really stupid stunt and her employer is arrested for running a Ponzi scheme to start over again and hopefully get some answers about her birth mother.

Her pitch to open a vintage cookbook & kitchenware gift shop in the Bon Vee Culinary House Museum of celebrated New Orleans chef Genevieve “Vee” Charbonnet in the Garden District. When the gift shop is given the go ahead by Eugenia who is a descendant of Miss Vee Ricki is so excited. Everything goes well at the grand opening and the first week is good until one of the tour…
