Book Review — Peg and Rose Solve a Murder by Laurien Berenson
Hello book lovers everywhere! I thought about posting this review Wednesday but I just couldn’t wait!
When Laurien Berenson first announced this spend off series from her Melanie Travis series I was very excited. Aunt Peg is the person got Melanie sleuthing when her beloved champion Poodle was kidnapped in the first Melanie Travis mystery A Pedigree to Die For and she has been in all 29 books either volunteering Melanie’s amateur sleuthing skills or being her partner in crime so to speak so when I’m glad to see Peg get her own series.
Peg Turnbull and her sister-in-law ex-nun Rose Donovan as a different as two people can be in every way. It doesn’t help that the two women’s relationship started off badly and never recovered. Now Rose who is back in Connecticut after years as a missionary in Guatemala with her husband, who is an ex-priest which tells you have they met, and looking to settle in and make friends as she and Peter run a women’s shelter. When Rose decides the best way is to join a bridge club she immediately thinks of her sister-in-law Peg to be her partner and she is hoping fences can be mended as well.
Peg agrees to partner with Rose and the two women find they are not the greatest team but all that changes when one of the members of the bridge club is murdered. Peg and Rose…
