Happy Thursday Southernistas! I hope your November is going really great and you are getting ready to celebrated Friendsgiving and Thanksgiving which are creeping closer and closer.

Last week I talked about all out holiday glam which to me just screams sequins, sequins, sequins and more sequins or as I like to say sparkle and shine but there are more ways to be glam. If you are not into sequins at all let me point you to velvet. Velvet is such a beautiful and elegant material that makes just as much a statement as wearing sequins do and it is a lot more comfortable to wear than sequins. It is a very luxe material. You can add sparkle and shine to velvet with your accessories that cute shiny clutch, sparkly shoes and jewelry can amp your look in an very understated but nevertheless statement. If you don’t want to let go of the sequins but not go all out think about adding a velvet coat or jacket to your look.

The great thing about wearing velvet is it works in a more casual holiday get together because I don’t care what anyone says no matter how much you dress down sequins it is still sequins people and you’re still going to sparkle and shine. Also it is perfect for attending church if you go to midnight mass, a Thanksgiving service or your church’s Christmas program or Hankkuah celebration. But a velvet jumpsuit, dress, or a velvet skirt and sparkly top and you are set for that causal yet elegant get together or night out.
