My Review of A Corpse in Coldlake Creek by Kristen Skeet
Hello Book Lovers! I just realized next week is Thanksgiving! Time is really flying but I’m looking forward to good food, fun times with family and lots of reading.
I discovered this author on TikTok and added her to my TBR and I am so glad I did. A Corpse in Coldlake Creek is the first book in Kristen Skeet’s Elsie Cromwell Cozy Mystery series and overall I loved this first book. So far there are three books in this series but I really hope there are more coming!
First Elsie Cromwell is all the cozy troupes rolled into one with a twist she is an independent film maker on top of being the owner of bookstore and an author. It makes sense that she would another career since she is not a major Hollywood director she’s making movies on her dime. Plus her love interest is the Governor of New York Jack Ellis whose life she saved three years ago.
After a day of shooting Elsie and her crew stumble upon the dead body of a local man who had crashed her set earlier that day. When the detective in charge of the case is determined to pin the murder on her Elsie decides it’s time to put on one more hat amateur sleuth and find out who killed Lucas. Will help from her assistant director/cameraman and Governor Ellis she starts following the clues.
