Hi to all my cozy mystery lovers! I didn’t know this day existed until last week when cozy mystery author P.D. Workman wrote about this day on here on Medium!

It seems fitting that Dame Agatha Christie’s birthday would be selected to celebrate this genre of mystery since she is credited with creating the cozy mystery.

For those who are wondering what a cozy mystery is the accepted definition is a mystery that usually takes place in a small down, there is an amateur sleuth who is usually a single female that works as a librarian, baker, crafter, or bookstore but not limited to those careers, the murder doesn’t happen in the book so no gory murder or violence and no profanity and there is usually a love interest but not in every series.

So in honor of this day I would to share my favorite cozy mystery series with links attached. These cozies are one I’ve been reading for years and some that are on my radar to read. I’ve decided to leave out those I’ve recently reviewed or included in a previous post. If you’ve not read this genre I hope today will be the day you give a cozy mystery a try.

Until next time book lovers!

Since it’s Dame Christie’s birthday I feel it is only right to kick off this list with her most famous sleuths Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple

The Mysterious Affair at Styles is the first Hercule Poirot Mystery
