The Pencil Skirt

Happy Thursday Southernistas! Wow only one more day in this month and then October is here or as some people call it spooky season for you lovers of all things Halloween! I am especially looking forward to this weekend my church is having a conference and I am very excited about the Five Ministry Conference this weekend!

I want to talk about the pencil skirt! I love this skirt because it lets you be sexy and professional at the same time. No closet should be without this classic piece of clothing. This skirt is timeless and never falls out of favor and it comes in mini, maxi, and midi so you have plenty of options to work into your style. I like to size down, sometimes, to give me a smidge tighter fit because I have no problem with vbo (visible belly outline) at all. I personally like to style this skirt with sky high heels for some extra oomph and a cute top and a blazer/cardigan and you’re ready for the office or you can throw on a pair of white sneaks, a t-shirt and a moto jacket (or not) for a casual look or boots for a more edgy look.

Pencil skirts works on all body types and you can size up if you want a looser fit, your true size for fit or like me if you want to up the sexy size down. My favorite brands to shop for pencil skirts are Ashley Stewart and Eloquii their pencil skirts come in a variety of colors and prints. In the pictures the skirt I’m wearing is from Ashley Stewart but I’ve also included some from Eloquii too.

Trust me you can’t go wrong with the classic pencil skirt. It’s a classic for a reason.
