Happy Wednesday fellow book lovers especially my mystery/cozy mystery lovers! We are 11 days into 2023 can you believe it?! I hope you are crushing your reading goals for this year. There is someone I follow on Instagram who has already read 7 books! Oh how I wish!

So I shared with y’all in my last post that my January reading goals are to read the first book in cozy mystery series that have been on my TBR for a year or longer. I’m off to a great start!

Penne Dreadful (Italian Chef Mystery Book 1) by Catherine Bruns

I am enjoying this first book so much! Catherine Bruns is the author or several cozy mystery series so it will come as no surprise that I have the first book in her Maple Syrup mystery series too but one series at a time. In this first book Tessa Esposito is recently widowed after loosing her husband in what she thought was a car accident but has recently learned was actually murdered. Who could have wanted her beloved Dylan dead? I’ve just started this book but I am hooked!

A Caterer’s Guide to Love & Murder (Caterer’s Guide to Crime Book 1) by Jessica Thompson (KU)

I have a ton of books in KU (Kindle Unlimited) that I have to tackle too! I find this is a great way to read a first book in a series I’m curious about but don’t want to add a hard copy to my bulging bookshelves. It helps that a lot of ebooks in KU are free:). Plus it’s a great way to read while you work. I’ve just started reading this first book in this series…
